While the molas are now matted on a black piece of fabric, they were once worn as part of a blouse, and are created in pairs. The set of molas shown is an example of a pair of molas, which if separated may lose some of their meaning and illustration of the complexities of the technique and skill of the artist. The molas depict two different scenes: one showing two women creating pottery, and the other depicting two women preparing chica and an infant in a hammock. The artist insisted the pair be purchased and displayed together. Once again, the geometric patterns are evident (via triangles in the background), while the complexity of the embroidery illustrates the skill of the artist.
